Hellenic American Academy

The following programs may be available through your employer:

1. Direct education contribution: Many corporations have an education contribution program funded by their own charitable foundation. The corporation will match the employee’s donation if eligible. Contact your HR representative for more information. The Hellenic American Academy has received matching contributions from Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, Prudential Financial, and Mizuho Securities.

2. United Way: The Hellenic American Academy is a 501c3 entity and it will be eligible for most United Way programs. The Hellenic American Academy has received United Way contributions from employees of Bank of America, Deloitte & Touche, and Ernst & Young. Each corporation has an independent process to register eligible charities under their United Way program. In some cases, this may require contacting a United Way processing center and providing them with the Academy's 501c3 and contact information. Make sure to ask whether employer matching will apply and to what amount - some corporations only apply matching to specific United Way sponsored charities, in this case, your portion of the donation will go to the Academy and the company match will go to the United Way sponsored charity. Also ask whether the employee name will be made known to the Academy - most corporations do not pass along the names of their employees - if this is the case, please contact the academy and let them know of your contribution. It's very important that the application process is completed correctly (one time process) and that the donation is properly designated to the Academy (each time.) If a donation is not designated properly or the charity is not approved by the corporation, then 100% of the donation will automatically go to a United Way sponsored charity and no one will be informed (you will only be informed of an error if the donation is greater than $500.) Please contact your HR representative and coordinate the registration process if needed.
