Welcome!
The Greek Evening School of the Hellenic American Academy, the teachers, and I welcome you and wish you a rewarding school year filled with health, joy, success, and progress.

Dear Children,

Our goal is to give you the best of what the Greek Orthodox education has to offer, while creating the proper environment, right here at the Hellenic American Academy, where you will feel happy and above all proud to be Greek-American of the Orthodox Faith.

Dear Parents,

As the new school year begins, I would like to assure you that the primary objective of our Greek School is to teach the modern Greek language at a satisfactory level, so our children should be able to communicate orally and express their thoughts in writing with clarity and precision. In addition, our children are going to be taught the cultural and religious teachings of our homeland Greece. The subjects of History, Religion, and Folklore (i.e. customs, traditions, Greek dance and song), aim at strengthening our children’s national and religious sentiment. It also helps them understand their roots, learn respect, embrace moral and religious values in order to form a comprehensive and strong Greek-Christian personality. This  will enable them to survive in the mosaic of various cultures and people of America. Thus, we will be able to keep our children close to the family, to the Greek ideals, and to our Greek Orthodox faith.

In order to materialize the above goals and maintain the high standards of our school, we all must cooperate and help, in any way we can, this gigantic effort of preserving, promoting and perpetuating our Greek language, faith and rich heritage.

Sincerely,
Julia Patrianakos
Principal of the Evening School
