ONGOING EVENTS

As with every year during the late months of winter, cultural activities at the Hellenic American Academy have reached a feverish pitch.

The end of January found students from the Academy’s schools and the Academy’s adult choir, participating impressively in important occasions celebrating Greek Letters Day.

February and the months of spring that follow, is a significant period in which activities are intensified in preparation for the end of the year programs.

Here is a list of the cultural programs and happenings that truly emphasize the Academy’s commitment to Culture and the Arts:

Almost daily after school drama classes for kids 7-18 years old preparing their performances for the middle of May, 2008.
The Adult Theatre Group of the Academy, rehearsing two plays: «Ζητείτε Ψέφτης», (“Liar Wanted”), by Dimitris Psathas, to be performed at the beginning of May and «Ένας Ιππότης Για Τη Βασούλα», (“A Knight for Vasoula”), scheduled for the beginning of June.
The Academy’s Adult Choir, under the direction of Dimitris Marinos, rehearsing a program dedicated to the music and songs of Manos Hadgidakis, for late May performances.
Bouzouki lessons, every Saturday for kids and adults, beginners or bouzouki players who would like to develop their craft.
Soon to be formed: Children’s Choir, Byzantine Choir & Hellenic Traditional Dance Group.
